Position Title: Groundlaborer
Position Summary: Individuals in this entry-level position assist in clearing trees and brush and work around power lines. Work is performed outside in all weather conditions, year round.
Responsibilities:
- Operates chainsaws and handsaws to cut trees, limbs and brush from the ground.
- Drags and stacks trees, limbs and brush.
- Operates chipper.
- Prepares jobsite for proper traffic control layout.
- Learns how to operate the controls and outriggers of the aerial bucket truck.
- Learns to tie knots and learns their use of the job.
- Understands, follows and promotes all company safety procedures and policies.
- Inspects and performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs of assigned tools and equipment.
- Communicates orally and in writing with trimmer, general foreman, property owners and customers.
- Completes all other duties customarily associated with such a position assigned.
- Employees are expected to put forth maximum effort and initiative toward the performance of their jobs.
Qualifications:
- Possess a valid Class D driver's license.
- Have reliable transportation and current automobile insurance coverage.
- Must be able to travel and stay overnight at the companies expense.
